Privacy Policy
Last updated: 1 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data AEORanks ("we", "us") collects through aeoranks.com, why we collect it and the choices you have.
The short version
- You can read this site and see your AEO Readiness Checker score without giving us your name or email.
- We collect your name and email only if you choose to unlock fix steps or book a call.
- We don't sell your personal data, and we don't use advertising trackers on this site.
- You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data at any time.
Who we are
AEORanks is responsible for your personal data. We are based in Delhi, India. You can contact us about this policy at [email protected].
What we collect
AEO Readiness Checker
When you run a scan, we process the URL you enter. Our server fetches that public page and its robots.txt and llms.txt files, including test requests that use the names of AI crawlers. We keep the URL and results for 24 hours so repeat checks are fast. Please don't enter URLs that contain private information, such as access tokens.
If you unlock your fix steps, we collect your name and email, and we save them with the scanned URL, its score, the date and a one-way hash of your IP address. This creates a record for each unlock, so we can see the pages you checked, limit each email to 5 unlocked reports every 30 days and contact you about your results.
The PDF report is created in your browser. We don't receive or store a copy of the file.
To limit abuse, we also use a one-way hash of your IP address to count scans for a short period.
Booking a call
Booking links open Calendly, which collects the details you enter. We receive those details so we can hold the call. Calendly handles them under its own privacy notice.
Technical and security data
Like most websites, our servers and security provider process technical data when you visit. This includes your IP address, browser type, the pages you request and the time of each request.
Cookies
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies on this site at the moment. Cloudflare may set a strictly necessary cookie to protect the site from automated abuse. WordPress sets login cookies only for people who sign in to manage the site.
Why we use your data
- To provide what you ask for: we use your URL to run a scan, and your details to show fix steps or arrange a call. Where GDPR-style laws apply, our legal basis is taking steps at your request or performing a contract.
- To follow up on your report: we may contact you about your results and our AEO services. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in responding to people who show interest in our work. You can opt out at any time.
- To protect and run the site: we use technical data to keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fix problems. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating a safe service.
- To meet legal duties: we keep or disclose data when the law requires it.
We don't make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects using only automated processing. Your AEO score describes a web page, not you.
Who we share data with
We share data only with service providers that help us run the site, and when the law requires it:
- Amazon Web Services: hosts this website and its database.
- Cloudflare: delivers and protects the website.
- Calendly: manages call bookings.
- Gravatar (Automattic): serves author images on some blog pages, so it can receive your IP address when those images load.
Links to services such as LinkedIn and Upwork take you to their own sites, where their privacy policies apply.
How long we keep data
| Data | How long we keep it |
|---|---|
| Scanned URLs and results | 24 hours |
| Scan limit counters | Up to 24 hours |
| Name, email and scan records from unlocked reports | 24 months after your last scan, or until you ask us to delete them |
| Web server logs | About 14 days |
Calendly and Cloudflare keep data as described in their own policies. We may keep data longer if the law requires it.
Where your data is processed
Our website and database are hosted in the United States. Cloudflare and our other providers may process data in other countries. Where the law requires it, we rely on appropriate safeguards for these transfers, such as the contract terms our providers offer.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you and receive a copy
- Correct data that is inaccurate
- Delete your data
- Object to or restrict how we use it, including direct marketing
- Withdraw consent where we rely on consent
- Complain to your local data protection authority
To use these rights, email [email protected]. We may need to confirm your identity first. We won't treat you unfairly for making a request.
Security
We use encrypted connections, restricted server access and security filtering to protect personal data. No website is completely secure, so we can't guarantee absolute security.
Children
This site is for businesses and isn't intended for children. We don't knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think a child has given us data, please contact us and we'll delete it.
